Vauxhall Combo Life Electric named ‘Best Electric MPV’ at What Car? Electric Car Awards 2022
The Combo Life Electric praised by industry experts for its comfort and practicality
Vauxhall is committed to electrifying Britain and will be an electric-only brand by 2028

Luton – The Vauxhall Combo Life Electric has been named the UK’s ‘Best Electric MPV’ at the annual What Car? Electric Car Awards.

Capable of seating up to seven people in comfort, the Combo Life Electric drew particular praise for its spacious interior, practicality, and comfort from What Car?’s judges. The What Car? Electric Car Awards 2022 highlights the best pure electric and plug-in hybrid electric models across a number of vehicle categories.

The award-winning Vauxhall Combo Life Electric is capable of up to 174 miles from a single charge and supports up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% charge taking just 30 minutes. The practical Combo Life Electric is available in two sizes, a Medium and a longer XL variant, with Medium models available in five and seven-seat configurations and XL vehicles offered exclusively with seven seats. Each individual seat has its own ISOFIX child seat bracket, allowing owners to fit three child seats next to each other – making it ideal for families.

Steve Huntingford, Editor, What Car?, said: "While MPVs are generally practical, there's so much headroom in the Combo Life Electric that you could almost be in a townhouse. Meanwhile, in tight parking spaces, you'll really appreciate its sliding rear doors and the fact that the rear window opens independently of the tailgate. The Combo Life Electric can obviously take your children to and from school in a far cleaner fashion than fossil-fuelled alternatives, too. And whatever the journey, you'll appreciate its tidy handling and well-controlled ride. Attractive pricing – particularly on PCP finance – and a long list of standard equipment complete a fine package."

James Taylor, Acting Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “It’s brilliant to see the Combo Life Electric named ‘Best Electric MPV’ by the What Car? judges. The Combo Life Electric continues to impress both customers and industry experts. By 2024, we will offer an electrified variant across our entire model line-up, before becoming an electric-only brand by 2028. Awards like these demonstrate why Vauxhall is leading the way in driving Britain into an electric future.”

Vauxhall will offer an electrified variant across its entire model line-up by 2024 and will have a fully electric car and van range by 2028 – seven years ahead of the UK Government deadline. Vauxhall’s parent company, Stellantis, has also committed to becoming a carbon-neutral group globally by 2038 – and to halve its carbon footprint by 2030 (based on 2021 data).
