Luton – Vauxhall’s all-new Insignia Grand Sport has been named ‘Family Car of the Year’ at the 2017 Scottish Car of the Year Awards.

The D-sector favourite, now in its second generation, picked up the award in the highly-competitive Family Car of the Year category, beating a number of crossover cars that have dominated the segment recently. It was commended for its premium quality alongside its ample space, proving itself to be the best car for not only family use, but the daily commute and business use too.

“The traditional family hatchback may have been replaced in many driveways by crossovers, but the Insignia Grand Sport has placed Vauxhall firmly back into the heart of this segment,” commented Stephen Park, Association of Scottish Motoring Writers President. “Combining sleek looks with premium quality, acres of space and a fine range of powertrains made the New Insignia Grand Sport the clear winner.”

“We would like to thank the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers for this honour,” said Denis Chick, Vauxhall’s Director of Communications, after collecting the award. ““The Insignia Grand Sport has all of the virtues of its successful smaller brother the Astra, and takes those to a higher level. It set new standards for design, efficiency, technology and connectivity when it launched earlier this year.”
